The National Art Center, Tokyo (NACT) will be holding “Prism Weekend: Perfect for Families! Perfect for Everyone!” for three days from October 3 to 5!
During Prism Weekend, everyone can enjoy a variety of experiences that are unique to NACT, such as viewing exhibitions as you talk with your friends and family, exploring the building while collecting stamps, and creating your own works and drawings. Why not join us on the first weekend in October and enjoy a wide array of art with your companions?
Note: No prior application required. Come directly to the venue.
Please be aware that there may be a wait when the venue is full.
Preschool and elementary school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Four public programs will be held during Prism Weekend.
- Stamp Rally: Zoom Zoom Explorers

Participation is free
Explore the National Art Center, Tokyo, and try to collect five stamps!
As you stamp each of the stamps on the Prism Weekend flyer, the picture on the flyer will change.
When you collect all five stamps, you can get a Prism Weekend badge!
Note: After you collect all of the stamps, bring your flyer to the information desk near the main entrance on the first floor. A staff member will stamp your flyer with a completion stamp and give you a badge. (The desk is open until 6:00PM on Oct. 5.)

Special Exhibition Gallery 1E
“Talking and Looking at Art” will be held from 10:00AM to 12:00PM in the Prism of the Real: Making Art in Japan 1989–2010 exhibition gallery. Enjoy viewing the artworks while chatting with your family and friends!
Note: This program is designed to provide families, especially those with infants and toddlers, with a more relaxed and comfortable viewing experience. Although the event is open to everyone, please understand that this is the program’s main objective.
Adults, including high school students, must have an exhibition ticket to enter the gallery.
Re-entrying the gallery on the same day is permitted during Prism Weekend.
“Talking and Looking at Art” is only being held in conjunction with Prism of the Real (not the Bulgari Kaleidos exhibition). - Workshop: Make a PuPePoPaPi Head!

In this program, elementary school students create quirky and fun heads by attaching colored paper and tape to paper hats and drawing pictures on them. - Open Space: Draw Pictures on Prism Mountain!

3F Lecture Room
Participation is free
This program for preschoolers invites children to draw on and decorate a cardboard Prism Mountain in an open space with cardboard on the floor.
Note: The art supplies are safe, non-toxic, and appropriate for use by small children.
Though the materials can be easily washed off with water, they may get on children’s hands and clothes, so we recommend wearing clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
Facilities and Childcare Service
- The babycare room is located on the basement floor. The diaper-changing area can be used freely by anyone with an infant.
- The multipurpose restrooms located on each floor are equipped with diaper-changing spaces.
- The baby strollers are available free of charge. Please ask at the information on the first floor.
- Childcare is provided for anyone with young children as part of a service for visitors attending the exhibitions.
Note: Childcare services are not available during Prism Weekend.
